Emilia Pérez

Spellbound
Rachel Zegler leads the star-studded voice cast of this animated musical adventure film, set in the fantasy kingdom of Lumbria, The production, which began all the way back in 2017, sees young princess Ellian (Zegler) embark on a quest to save her parents (Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem) after they are transformed into monsters.
The Piano Lesson
Based on the Pulitzer-winning play by August Wilson, Samuel L. Jackson and John David Washington lead the cast of a powerful drama which examines the value of family legacy. Set in post-Great Depression Pittsburgh, the Charles family clash over whether to sell a treasured family heirloom - a piano adorned with decorations created by an enslaved ancestor.
JOY
A new retelling of the true story behind the scientific breakthrough that led to the birth of the world’s first “test tube baby”, Louise Joy Brown, in 1978. Joy follows the unlikely partnership between nurse Jean Purdy (Thomasin McKenzie), scientist Robert Edwards (James Norton) and obstetrician Patrick Steptoe (Bill Nighy), and the 10-year battle against the odds to create a successful pregnancy through in-vitro fertilisation.
Woman of the Hour
The film Woman of the Hour is a crime thriller based on the scary true story of serial killer Rodney Alcala. Unbelievably, he appeared on national television after murdering five women. Woman of the Hour follows him as he appears on The Dating Game, where he manages to win a date with a young woman called Cheryl Bradshaw – who soon realises something isn’t right. Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick plays Cheryl (and directs), while It Follows actor Daniel Zovatto portrays serial killer Alcala.
Rebel Ridge
This new movie, which is exclusive to Netflix, follows a former marine as he confronts corruption in a small town. When law enforcement find any excuse to seize the bag of money he needs to post his cousin's bail, he goes to dramatic - and understandable - lengths to get it back. It stars British actor Aaron Pierre, as well as Hollywood stars Don Johnson and AnnaSophia Robb.
Hit Man
Hollywood's new favourite leading man, Glen Powell stars as a mild-mannered college professor who moonlights as a fake hitman for the police. However, when he's tasked with helping a woman escape an abusive relationship, he must put all the skills hes learned in his fake role as a hitman to the test to survive…

Ma Rainey's Black Bottom
Inspired by the real-life American singer Ma Rainey, this movie chronicles tensions rising during a turbulent Blues recording session in 1920s Chicago. Starring Viola Davies in the title role, this Oscar-winning movie also features the late Chadwick Boseman in his final film role before his death in 2020.

This 2019 movie chronicles Moore's adoption of his unrestrained alter-ego as he guns for a shot at Hollywood.
Grave of the Fireflies
An animated Japanese-language film, Grave of the Fireflies chronicles the lives of two orphans as they try to survive in the final few months of the Pacific War during WWII. Based on a semi-autobiographical short story of the same name, it was made by well-known Japanese animation studio, Studio Ghibli.
The Harry Potter Films
Everyone alive must surely know the story of Harry Potter. A boy wizard, he takes on the forces of evil to save the wizarding world, all while juggling school work at the magnificent Hogwarts. The films, which launched the careers of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, follows Harry, Ron, and Hermione from their first year in Hogwarts in The Philosopher's Stone to their devastating final battle against Voldemort in The Deathly Hallows Part 2.
Mudbound
This historical drama tells the story of two World War II veterans, one white, one black, as they return home to Mississippi. Once there, they both are forced to deal with PTSD and racism in their own way. Carey Mulligan, Jason Clarke and Rob Morgan star in this moving drama.
The Irishman
This epic Martin Scorsese gangster drama features an all-star cast including Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci. De Niro portrays a truck driver who becomes a hitman when he gets involved with a mobster and his crime family. A mammoth film, it runs at close to three and a half hours long.
Marriage Story
Marriage Story is a hard-hitting drama starring Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver as a couple going through a heartbreaking divorce. Their coast-to-coast split is complicated by custody issues surrounding their young son.

The second film in Edgar Wright's Cornetto Trilogy, Simon Pegg portrays a London police officer who gets transferred to a quiet village in the country. Joined by a hapless local bobby played by (real life best friend) Nick Frost, the comedy duo uncover a sinister conspiracy taking place in Sandford. Timothy Dalton, Jim Broadbent, Olivia Colman, and Bill Bailey also appear amongst a star-studded cast.
Uncut Gems

The Listeners
Based on the best-selling novel by Jordan Tannahill, Rebecca Hall portrays an English teacher who begins to hear a peculiar buzzing sound. Friends and family cannot hear it, and no doctor can diagnose a problem. As her life starts to disintegrate, she finds others who, like her, hear the strange noise, and she becomes embroiled in a dark conspiracy.
Shetland
Set on and around the Shetland islands, this popular detective drama follows DI Jimmy Perez and his team as they investigate murders and mysteries in the area. Between seasons 1-7, Douglas Henshall played the lead role of Perez. From season 8 onwards, Agatha Raisin star Ashley Jensen took over as the series lead. There are eight seasons available so far, with more on the way.
Time
This hard-hitting drama is a brutally honest, at times harrowing, look inside British prisons, told through the eyes of the prisoner. In season one, viewers follow Sean Bean’s character, Mark, as he struggles to adjust in a men’s prison. In season two, we’re introduced to female characters - portrayed by Jodie Whittaker, Bella Ramsey, and Tamara Lawrance - in a women’s prison. There are two seasons available of the Jimmy McGovern drama, each series is three episodes. Time has a rare 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Happy Valley
Set in a Yorkshire village, Happy Valley follows no-nonsense police officer Catherine Cawood as she tackles crime, all whilst trying to deal with her traumatic past. The divorced copper is also having to raise her troubled grandson, as well as living with her recovering addict sister. Then, Catherine’s life is nearly destroyed again by the re-emergence of a very bad man from her family’s past. Sarah Lancashire and James Norton lead in this award-winning BBC drama, of which there are three seasons.
The Responder
Martin Freeman plays a policeman in Liverpool who works the infamously tough night shift in this unrelenting drama. Joined by a new recruit, Chris must learn to work alongside her, as well as trying to deal with his own personal problems (of which there are many). Joining Freeman is Some Girls star Adelayo Adedayo, Luther’s Warren Brown, and Time’s Faye McKeever. There are two seasons available to enjoy on iPlayer.
Line of Duty
This police procedural drama follows an anti-corruption unit within the police. Their job? To police the police. Over six seasons, viewers follow the unit as they attempt to bring down the mysterious ‘H’ - a corrupt person or persons of senior rank within the police force who are instrumental in running organised crime. Vicky McClure, Martin Compston, Keeley Hawes, Anna Maxwell-Martin, and Stephen Graham appear in this long-running, hard-hitting drama.
Doctor Who
The Doctor is an alien who saves the universe and travels in time with his police telephone box, the TARDIS. The long-running series, which originally ran between 1963 and 1989, and then returned in 2005, has more monsters than you can shake a sonic screwdriver at, more aliens than you can count, and so many mind-bending storylines that you’ll be entertained for months (seriously, it will take that long to get through it all). Household names such as Tom Baker, David Tennant, Jodie Whittaker, Billie Piper, and many more lead the cast in this iconic TV series, which has 40 seasons so far.
Sherlock
A modern re-telling of Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes adventures set in present day London. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman play the infamous characters of Holmes and Watson, as they investigate murders, crimes, and mysteries. They also take on perhaps the greatest villain of all time, Moriarty. Andrew Scott, Amanda Abbington, Rupert Graves, and Mark Gatiss also star over the course of the show’s 4 series.
This Is Going to Hurt
Based on Adam Kay’s book of the same name, this medical drama series follows a group of junior nurses as they take on the pressures of working in a obstetrics and gynaecology department in a London hospital. The humour is blacker than black but, more importantly, it doesn’t hold back in showing the devastating effects of working in a hospital environment. James Bond star Ben Whishaw leads, alongside One Day actress Ambika Mod.
The Jetty
A relatively new drama on BBC iPlayer, The Jetty follows DC Ember Manning as she investigates an arson attack on a holiday home. However, she soon realises there might be a link between the fire and an old missing person’s case. Soon, her past becomes intertwined with a mystery in the present. Doctor Who star Jenna Coleman plays Ember, and she is joined by House of the Dragon star Tom Glynn-Carney. There are four episodes available in total.
Killing Eve
A British intelligence investigator is tasked with tracking down the psychopathic assassin Villanelle. However, as her chase for the killer intensifies, both women begin to grow obsessed with each other. Award-winning actor Jodie Comer plays Villanelle, while Sandra Oh plays Eve Polastri. There are four seasons in total.
Call the Midwife
This long-running period drama follows a group of nurse midwives working in a hospital in the East End of London in the 1950s, 1960s and beyond. It’s based on the memoirs of Jennifer Worth. Over the years, a number of top actors have featured in the show, including Miranda Hart, Jessica Raine, Helen George, and Fenella Woolgar. All 13 seasons are available to watch now. Series 14 starts with a festive special on Christmas Day.
Normal People
Set in rural Ireland, as well as Dublin, Normal People is based on the Sally Rooney novel of the same name. It follows Irish teenagers Connell and Marianne as they navigate adulthood, relationships, and their mental health – all while falling in love. Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones play the star-crossed lovers in this hard-hitting, emotional drama. The series consists of 12 short episodes.
I May Destroy You
This comedy drama follows a young writer in the public eye, living in London who is trying to rebuild her life after being raped. Refusing to live like a victim, she’s also racing against a deadline to finish her second novel. Michaela Cole writes and stars in this black comedy, as does Gangs of London actor Paapa Essiedu.
In My Skin
Bethan, a young Welsh teen, is living something of a double life. Her dad’s an alcoholic, her mother’s mentally ill, and she’s struggling to come to terms with her sexuality. But no-one knows this, because she tries to keep home life and school life separate. Up-and-coming Welsh actress Gabrielle Creevy stars in this comedy/drama, of which there are two seasons.
Fleabag
Fleabag follows a young woman in London as she gets herself into daft situations and relationships, all whilst breaking the fourth wall with tongue firmly in cheek. Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the show’s writer and creator, leads the cast. It also features the likes of Hugh Dennis, Andrew Scott, and Sian Clifford. There are two seasons of six episodes each.
Peaky Blinders
Set in Birmingham in the years leading up to WWII, this period drama follows the exploits of the gangster Shelby family, led by fierce boss Tommy. The family epic set in 1900s England centres on a gang who sew razor blades in the peaks of their caps to deal with any trouble – and there’s plenty. It’s based on a real-life gang. There are six seasons in total, with a Netflix film coming soon.
Death in Paradise
Death in Paradise follows a string of detectives who investigate murders and mysteries on a stunning island in the Caribbean. The series first launched with Ben Miller in the lead role. He was then replaced by Kris Marshall, who was then replaced by Ardal O'Hanlon, and then Ralf Little. EastEnders star Don Lucas will be leading the show in the 14th series which starts later this year.
Vigil
The first season of this police procedural drama is pretty unique in the fact that it takes place on a submarine. DCI Amy Silva arrives on board to investigate a mysterious death. However, her investigations lead to the police being thrown into conflict with the military and MI5. The second season follows Silva as she and her team investigate a military drone programmed to turn on its own - killing several soldiers. Suranne Jones and Rose Leslie front this series, of which there are two.
Marriage
Ian has just been made redundant and is struggling to adapt to non-working life. Meanwhile, his wife, Emma, is working as a solicitor and is having to deal with her boss’ advances. This intimate examination of married life stars TV favourites Sean Bean and Nicola Walker as a long term couple. The series, which consists of 4 episodes, is from the creator of Mum, and Him & Her.
Silent Witness
Silent Witness is the longest-running crime drama on TV, with 27 seasons under its belt so far (and more coming). The series follows a team of exceptional forensic pathologists and scientists as they investigate heinous crimes and use their skills to catch the people responsible. Emilia Fox is the current face of the series, after replacing Amanda Burton in 2004. The likes of Liz Carr, Tom Ward, Richard Lintern, and William Gaminara have also featured prominently throughout the show’s run.
Everything I Know About Love
Based on the Dolly Alderton book of the same name. Everything I Know About Love is a comedy drama about Maggie and her three friends moving to London to start their new lives. Throughout the series, we follow Maggie, Birdy, Nell, and Amara as they navigate adulthood, their jobs, and relationships. The seven-part series features The Killing Kind actress Emma Appleton, Masters of the Air’s Bel Powley, and Alex Rider star Marli Siu.
Sherwood
Set in a Nottinghamshire village, two killings shatter an already divided community with a dark past. Based on the real life murders of a trade unionist and a hairdresser in 2004, Sherwood consists of 2 series. The ever-reliable David Morrissey plays a dogged detective charged with investigating the killings. Meanwhile, Lesley Manville puts in a blinding performance, alongside Spooks actor Robert Glenister, and Showtrial’s Adeel Akhtar.
His Dark Materials
Based on Phillip Pullman’s trilogy of the same name, His Dark Materials follows Lyra, an orphan in an alternate universe as she goes looking for her friend after he vanishes. However, along her journey - which takes her right across the multiverse - she soon learns that she isn’t quite who she thought she was... Logan star Dafne Keen leads this star-studded series, which also features the likes of James McAvoy, Ruth Wilson, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. There are three series available.
The Tourist
A man wakes up after a car crash with absolutely no memory of who he is, where he is, or why he’s there. Over the course of the thriller, viewers learn that the handsome Irish stranger isn’t exactly what he seems - and he has a very dark past. 50 Shades of Grey actor Jamie Dornan fronts this thriller drama, of which there are two series.
Our Girl
A military drama with a heart, Our Girl follows Private Molly Dawes - and later Georgie Lane - as they join the army. The series follows them on their journeys across the world, including Afghanistan, Nepal, and Nigeria. EastEnders actress Lacey Turner leads the cast in series 1, replaced by Michelle Keegan from series 2 onwards. There are four seasons to enjoy, and the cast includes Luke Pasqualino, Ben Aldridge, Nico Mirallegro, and Iwan Rheon.
Cobra Kai
A television sequel to the hit Karate Kid films, Cobra Kai flips the narrative and puts Daniel LaRusso’s old rival Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) centre stage. Now in his fifties, Johnny is a down-on-his-luck loner, struggling to keep afloat. After a chance encounter helping his teenage neighbour Miguel Diaz fend off his bullies, Johnny reopens the infamous Cobra Kai dojo - with Miguel as his first student.
A Man on the Inside
Based on real events depicted in the 2021 Oscar-nominated documentary The Mole Agent, The Good Place’s Ted Danson stars as a widower who answers an ad placed by a private investigator to infiltrate a local nursing home to uncover evidence of patient mistreatment.
Derry Girls
During the height of the Irish Troubles, four teenage girls and their male best friend navigate school-life, relationships, and family life in Derry, Ireland. A Channel 4 original, Derry Girls launched the careers of its main stars, who have since gone on to appear in a range of shows, including Bridgerton, Screw, and Big Boys. All three seasons are available on Netflix.
One Day at a Time
One Day at a Time follows a Cuban-American living in Los Angeles. The mother of the family is suffering from PTSD having come home from serving in the military. If dealing with trauma wasn’t enough already, she has to deal with her elderly mother and her children too. Six Feet Under star Justina Machado plays Penélope in this old school sitcom. The first three seasons are currently available on Netflix. ViacomCBS's Pop picked up the show for a fourth and final season, but it’s unclear if it will ever arrive on Netflix.
Beef
Danny Cho and Amy Lau were involved in a road rage incident, but it didn’t end there. Their cross words during the incident escalate over the course of the 10-episode series to become a full-blown feud. The Walking Dead star Steven Yeun plays Danny, and American Housewife actress Ali Wong plays Amy. There is one season of the comedy drama (at the moment) available to stream.
I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson
This sketch comedy series sees people making embarrassing mistakes in a social or professional setting. As it that wasn’t awkward enough, they then refuse to admit it, and attempt to convince everyone who saw it that they are wrong. This cringe-worthy series stars Tim Robinson and features guest appearances from a number of stars, including Better Call Saul’s Bob Odenkirk, Beef’s Steven Yeun, and The Bear actress Ayo Edebiri.
Hit Man
A comedy movie about a mild-mannered university professor who moonlights as a hitman for the police. However, his skills are put to the test when he is forced to save a woman from an abusive relationship – and ends up falling for her. Top Gun star Glenn Powell leads the cast in this hit comedy drama, which also features the likes of Adria Arjona and Austin Amelio.
The Good Place
This comedy follows Eleanor (Heroes actress Kristen Bell) who has died and gone to Heaven. Although she believes she is in the wrong afterlife, she’s determined to hide the fact that she was bad during her life. The sitcom, which ran for four seasons, also stars Ant-Man star William Jackson Harper and Jameela Jamil. All four seasons are available to watch now.
Bo Burnham: Inside
Filmed during the pandemic, American stand-up comedian (and actor) Bo Burnham gives viewers a hilarious, musical insight into his life during isolation. Featuring a variety of songs and sketches, this Netflix special also has a serious side, examining Bo’s deteriorating mental health as the pandemic rages on.
Tig Notaro: Happy to Be Here
American stand-up comedian Tig performs a stand-up set in Houston, in which she uses her deadpan silliness to tell hilarious anecdotes, funny parenting confessions, and the comedic sides of marriage.
Life of Brian
In their second cinema outing, the Monty Python team take the mick out of the Messiah – which is probably why the film was so controversial when it was first released. Brian (Graham Chapman) was born next door to the Messiah - and now everyone thinks he’s God’s son, despite him repeatedly protesting that he isn’t.
In Bruges
Penguin star Colin Farrell and Harry Potter actor Brendan Gleeson play two hapless hitmen in this film. When a mission goes wrong, they’re left stuck in Bruges, Belgium. To make matters worse, the big boss wants Ray (Farrell) to kill Ken (Gleeson). This is a bit of a Harry Potter reunion, with Voldermort actor Ralph Fiennes and Fleur Delacour actress Clémence Poésy also having significant roles.
Superbad
A teen comedy film about two friends who want their school lives to go out with a bang before they head off to college. After getting invited to a house bash, they hatch a plan to lose their virginity. However, it doesn’t quite go to plan... Maniac star Jonah Hill and Barbie actor Michael Cera lead, alongside La La Land actress Emma Stone.
Four Lions
A British comedy film about four Muslim men who are determined to become soldiers of Jihad. The only issue is, they’re all a bit useless at it. The brilliant cast includes What We Do in the Shadows star Kayvan Novak, Venom baddie Riz Ahmed, and Sherwood’s Adeel Akhtar.
The Office
Remake of the iconic British version. Set in the offices of a paper supply company, The Office US follows a team of hapless employees as they go about their day to day lives under the management of their quirky, oddball boss. Steve Carrell stars as Michael Scott, alongside Mindy Kaling, John Krasinski, and Ed Helms. All nine seasons are available to stream.
Attack the Block
Before they were in Doctor Who and Star Wars, Jodie Whittaker and John Boyega fought aliens together in a South London housing estate. When extra-terrestrials invade their turf, a gang of teens and a young nurse fight back. Hot Fuzz star Nick Frost and Fortitude actor Luke Treadaway also star in this comedy sci-fi film.
Sex Education
Otis’ mum is a sex therapist, but he doesn’t have any experience whatsoever in the department. Despite this, Otis - in a bid to improve his reputation in school - becomes its resident, unofficial sex therapist, offering his fellow students advice. What follows is a heartwarming, hilarious series about a group of teens attempting to navigate sex, gender and relationships. Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa, Barbie’s Emma Mackey, Merlin’s Asa Butterfield, and Daddy Issues actress Aimee Lou Wood lead a cast that has since taken the world by storm.
Brassic
Set in a small town in the North of England, Brassic follows a group of friends who commit petty crimes to put some cash in their pockets. However, as they grow older, cracks begin to show in their relationships as they begin to wonder if there’s more out there for them. Fool Me Once star Michelle Keegan and This is England actor Joseph Gilgun lead the cast. Although there have been six seasons on Sky, only four are available to stream on Netflix now.
Mr. Roosevelt
This movie follows Emily, a struggling comedian in LA who returns to her hometown of Texas when a family member falls ill. However, once there, she is forced into the unenviable situation of having to live with her ex-boyfriend and his new, amazing girlfriend. Noël Wells plays Emily in this comedy, which she also wrote and directed.
Brian and Charles
This British comedy film - in the style of a documentary - follows a lonely inventor, Brian, who lives in rural Wales. After a harsh winter, Brian decides to build a robot friend, made by using a washing machine and scrap, who he subsequently names Charles. The film follows their exploits. After Life star David Earl plays Brian, whilst Louise Brealey of Sherlock fame plays Hazel.
Step Brothers
Comedy legends Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly play feuding, middle-aged step brothers who clash - and keep on clashing - after their parents get married and move in together. As they’re yet to have moved out, they’re forced to live under the same roof - with comical consequences. Severance star Adam Scott and Agatha All Along’s Kathryn Hahn are also in the cast of this film.
Bros
This film follows Aaron and Bobby as they play the field in New York without a care in the world for commitment - until they meet each other, that is. Despite their best efforts, the two men just keep on being drawn back to each other. Set in a little town in England, After Life follows a journalist at the local paper who is struggling to cope after the death of his beloved wife. After contemplating suicide, Tony decides to take out his anger over his wife’s death by saying what he wants to whoever he wants, no matter how rude. Yep, we can relate. Ricky Gervais writes and stars in this - at times - difficult to watch black comedy. David Bradley, Kerry Godliman, Penelope Wilton, and Diane Morgan also star.
KAOS
A relatively new addition to the Netflix comedy catalogue, Kaos is a series about the Greek gods – if they lived in the modern day. Prometheus has a plan to overthrow Zeus with the help of a property - and three unwitting mortals. Jurassic Park star Jeff Goldblum plays Zeus in this funny black comedy. He’s joined by the likes of Harry Potter star David Thewlis, Better actress Leila Farzad, and I Hate Suzie’s Billie Piper.
Wicked Little Letters
When the people of Littlehampton begin receiving letters full of profanity, they blame Irish migrant Rose. However, as they begin to investigate, it turns out that maybe Rose isn’t so guilty after all. Based on a true scandal, this movie - set in the 1920s - features a star-studded cast, including Jessie Buckley, Olivia Colman, Timothy Spall, and Joanna Scanlan.
Silo
A post-apocalyptic drama about what happens when the last remaining humans on Planet Earth, who reside in a silo deep underground, start asking questions. Bad Sisters
This Irish black comedy follows five sisters in modern-day Dublin. When Grace's odious husband dies, she and her four sisters find themselves at the centre of a life insurance investigation. The series flips between timelines - one before John's death, in which the sisters are plotting to murder him, and after his death, where an insurance agent attempts to prove their involvement. But did they really do it? Starring Sharon Horgan, Anne-Marie Duff, Eve Birthistle, Sarah Green, and Eve Hewson, a second season of Bad Sisters will be dropping in November.
Where's Wanda?
Apple TV+'s first German-language original series is a black comedy following a couple as they go looking for their lost daughter. Wanda disappeared without a trace several months ago. These shocking home truths then have a major impact on not only their lives, but his too. Fantastic Beasts actress Jessica Williams and Star Wars star Harrison Ford are also in the cast. One series is available at the moment, however, the second will be dropping on Apple TV+ on October 16.
Before
Before tells the story of a recently-widowed child therapist who finds himself drawn to a patient called Noah. He becomes convinced the child is connected to his dead wife and his past in a mysterious way. The more time they spend together, the deeper their bond grows. Billy Crystal leads, while Ugly Betty star Judith Light and Oscar-nominated Rosie Perez also feature.
Slow Horses
Starring Gary Oldman and Jack Lowden, Slow Horses follows a dysfunctional group of MI5 operatives as they attempt to protect England, all while dealing with their frankly obnoxious boss. The fourth season is currently airing on AppleTV+, with episodes running through until mid-October. A fifth season has also been commissioned. Based on the books by Mick Herron (of which there are currently eight).
Bad Monkey
Vince Vaughn stars as a former police detective who now works as a restaurant inspector. However, when he finds the severed arm of a tourist, he is dragged back into a world of mystery. This comedy/drama follows an American football coach who is hired to become the manager of an English football team. The owner of the team secretly hopes the appointment will lead the club to disaster, however the opposite happens. Across three seasons, viewers follow Ted and Richmond FC on their football journey. But it's not all headers and volleys, the series is also about the drama that takes place in the dressing room. Starring Jason Sudekis, Hannah Waddingham, Nick Mohammed, and Brett Goldstein, a fourth season has recently been announced.

Adam Scott portrays Mark S, an employee at Lumon Industries. Mark agrees to take part in their shocking Severance programme, where his non-work memories are separated from his work memories. In the outside world, Mark can't remember anything about his job. And when he's working, he can't remember his 'real' life as a "outie". In fact, that's the reason why he opted for the procedure - to numb the painful memories of his dead wife.
For All Mankind
Suicide Squad star Joel Kinnaman stars in this sci-fi drama set in an alternate version of history, imagining if the Soviets had won the space race by landing on the moon first in 1969. Set over the course of four decades, For All Mankind follows the US as they attempt to keep up with the Russians in the space race. There are currently four series, with a fifth on the way. A spin-off, focusing on the Soviet space programme, is currently in development.

Based on the book of the same name, this drama set in the 60s stars Avengers star Brie Larson as a chemist who, when sacked from her job, uses her new role hosting a cooking show to educate housewives on scientific topics.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon lead this drama inspired by the #metoo scandal. After her co-anchor is sacked amidst a sexual misconduct scandal, Alex (Aniston) fights to retain her job as a top news anchor as she's forced to host alongside Bradley (Witherspoon), whose impulsive actions threaten the network's future. The Office lead Steve Carrell and Loki star Gugu Mbatha-Raw also star. Three seasons are available, with a fourth on the way.
Trying
Trying follows Nikki and Jason - played by Esther Smith and Rafe Spall - as they struggle to start a family. In order to have a baby of their own, they decide to adopt, but it isn't as smooth sailing as they hoped. The series follows them as they attempt to navigate the trials and tribulations of adoption. Trying has an all-star cast, with the likes of Imelda Staunton, Phil Davis, Cush Jumbo, and Sian Brooke in the cast. There are four seasons available so far.
Black Bird
Kingsman star Taron Egerton portrays convicted criminal Jimmy Keane, who is starting a 10-year prison sentence. However, he is offered a deal - he'll be free if he can get a suspected killer to confess to a murder. The 10-part series follows Jimmy as he takes on the challenge of a lifetime in a bid to free himself. Paul Walter Hauser and Ray Liotta also star.
Dickinson
One of Apple TV+'s early successes, Dickinson is a comedy/drama about American poet Emily Dickinson as she navigates relationships and her romances. Hawkeye star Hailee Steinfeld portrays the titular character who is in love with her brother's fiancée, Sue (Ella Hunt). Unlike traditional historical dramas, Dickinson has anachronistic music and language throughout. There are three seasons available to stream.
Mythic Quest
Mythic Quest follows the team behind the biggest (fictional) multiplayer video game of all time. When the team isn't building new worlds and characters, they're fighting in the office as they attempt to keep the video game successful. Mythic Quest is written by It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia duo Rob McElhenney (who also stars) and Charlie Day. Ashly Burch, Jessie Ennis, and Imani Hakim also star. There are three seasons currently available.
Servant
Psychological horror Servant tells the story of a couple in mourning after a tragic accident. They hire a nanny to look after their newborn son. Except, their son is dead and has been replaced by a reborn doll - and they're convinced it's real. Their grief and struggling marriage subsequently allow an evil force to infiltrate their home. Six Feet Under star Lauren Ambrose plays the grieving Dorothy and Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint plays her brother. There are currently four seasons of Servant to stream.

This crime drama features Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi and Vera actress Cush Jumbo as detectives - one a grizzled veteran, the other just starting out in her career. They're forced together when a mysterious phone call revives an old, unsolved murder case. Zoë Wanamaker and Shaun Dooley also feature in this eight-episode series.
Pachinko
Based on the brilliant book of the same name, Pachinko follows a Korean family across four generations, beginning in 1913 and ending in 1989. In 1931, Sunja leaves her family in Korea - which is under Japanese rule - to live in Koreatown, Osaka, Japan. The series follows the conditions and discrimination experienced by Korean immigrants living in Japan. The Call star Kim Min-ha leads the cast.
Hijack
Idris Elba plays a businessman who finds himself trapped on a seven-hour flight between Dubai and London when the plane is hijacked. Using his powers of negotiation, he must try and broker a peace deal before the plane lands. Peaky Blinders' Neil Maskell also stars, as does Torchwood actress Eve Myles. There is a second season on the way, despite the first series originally intended to be a standalone.
Manhunt
Manhunt tells the story of Edward Stanton's search for Abraham Lincoln's murderer following his assassination. Game of Thrones star Tobias Menzies plays Stanton. Also in the cast are Tolkien's Anthony Boyle, 13 Reasons Why star Brandon Flynn, and The Walk's Lovie Simone.

However, Anabel tried to escape her imprisonment in an abandoned factory and was quickly murdered by the pair. For 900 days, the criminals decided to continue their plan regardless, demanding ransom money and going so far as to fake Segura’s voice in a tape recording.

Descendant
This striking and sensitive film follows descendants of the survivors from the Clotilda, the last ship that carried enslaved Africans to the United States. When the remains of the illegal ship are found, the descendants seek healing and justice. However, it's also an opportunity for them to celebrate their heritage and reclaim their story.
13th
This thought-provoking documentary takes an in-depth look at the criminalisation of African-Americans and the prison-industrial complex. The title is a reference to the 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery in the US and ended involuntary servitude, except as punishment for convicted criminals. The 100-minute long film examines whether this exemption has been used to continue the practice of involuntary servitude under the mask of penal labour.
My Octopus Teacher

Set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, this spin-off (prequel) series centres on the Targaryen family. This five-part historical drama depicts the Chernobyl disaster of 1986, and the subsequent clean-up efforts that took place after. The series also portrays some of the lesser-known stories around the disaster, including the efforts of the firefighters who were first on the scene, as well as miners who dug a critical tunnel under Reactor 4. Foundation actor Jared Harris, the late Paul Ritter, and Emily Watson star.
The Sopranos
Set in New Jersey in the early 2000s, The Sopranos follows mob boss Tony Soprano as he navigates the criminal underworld, as well as various attempts to bring his leadership to an end. All the while, he's dealing with his own family dramas and his mental health, as he sees a therapist in secret. The late, great James Gandolfini leads, with Edie Falco, Michael Imperioli, and Drea de Matteo amongst the brilliant cast. All six seasons are available.

Set in the fictional land of Westeros, Game of Thrones follows numerous Alpha families as they battle for the Iron Throne, all whilst having to deal with a nightmarish threat from the far North. Over eight series, this launched the careers of the likes of Emilia Clarke, Kit Harrington, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner, and features big names like Sean Bean, Peter Dinklage, Charles Dance, and Pedro Pascal.

The Roy Family own and control Waystar RoyCo, a powerful, wealthy entertainment and media conglomerate (there are reasons why viewers believed the family was based on the Murdochs). When the patriarch of the family unexpectedly announces his plans to retire, a power struggle for control of the company ensues. Scottish actor Brian Cox stars, as does Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, and Jeremy Strong. There are four series in total.
Mare of Easttown
In the suburb of Easttown, Philadelphia, police detective Mare Sheehan investigates the murder of a teenage mother, all whilst keeping her own life from falling apart. However, there's more - she hasn't been able to solve a missing girl case for a year now, leading many to doubt her detective skills. Meanwhile, she has to deal with a divorce, the loss of her son to suicide, and a custody battle with her son's girlfriend for her grandson. Kate Winslet leads the cast, which also features Mean Girls' Angourine Rice, and Dahmer star Evan Peters.
Euphoria
Euphoria follows a group of teens as they try to balance the stresses and strains of life, love, high school, loss, and addiction. Over three series, it deals with a number of topics, include drug abuse, toxic relationships, rape, and mental health issues, to name but a few. Saltburn star Jacob Elordi, The Handmaid's Tale star Sydney Sweeney, and Challengers' Zendaya all star.
The Last of Us
Based on the video game of the same name, The Last of Us follows Joel and Ellie (a grieving father without a daughter, and a young girl without parents) as they journey across a post-apocalyptic America. There are zombies but it turns out that, despite being bitten by one, Ellie hasn't become infected - making her very important indeed. Joel is tasked with transporting her across the country, all whilst avoiding the deadly Clickers (the infected) and the trigger-happy revolutionary militia group Fireflies. Pedro Pascal and Game of Thrones star Bella Ramsey lead the cast.
Inside No. 9
This black comedy anthology (nine series in total) tells a different story each episode, with the tale set mainly in one location, such as a house, a train carriage, a car, and even a pedal boat. There's always a couple of twists, too. League of Gentlemen's Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton write and star in each episode, and each story is self-contained. Hundreds of big-name British actors have appeared in the series, including Helen McCrory, Jenna Coleman, David Morrissey, Sheridan Smith, Derek Jacobi, and Jessica Hynes to name a few.
Yellowjackets
In 1996, a plane carrying a high school girls soccer team crashes, leaving the girls stranded for 19 months. During that time, their relationships deteriorate and they are forced into doing some truly horrific things just to survive. In the present day, the girls - now grown up - are still affected by the events 25 years later. Fallout star Ella Purnell stars, as does Casper's Christina Ricci, Candy's Melanie Lynskey, and Cape Fear's Juliette Lewis.
Gangs of London
Set in London's gritty underworld, this crime thriller depicts the fight for control after the head of the city's most powerful gang family is assassinated. Peaky Blinders star Joe Cole leads, alongside Game of Thrones actress Michelle Fairley. Lucian Msamati, Sope Dirisu, and Paapa Essiedu also star. Gangs of London has two series already, and has been renewed for a third.
The Office US
Set in the offices of a paper company in Scranton, US, this remake of the British original follows Michael Scott and his hapless employees during their mundane yet always slightly ridiculous day-to-day office lives. There are pranks, office romances, falling outs, and plenty of laughs. Steve Carrell leads as Michael Scott, alongside A Quiet Place star John Krasinski. Rainn Wilson, Ed Helms, Jenna Fischer, and Mindy Kaling also appear.
The White Lotus
This black-comedy anthology series follows the employees and guests at the fictional White Lotus resorts. The first season - set in Maui - starred big names such as Jennifer Coolidge, Jake Lacy, Connie Britton, and Sydney Sweeney. Season 2 featured a largely new cast, including Theo James, Aubrey Plaza, Tom Hollander, and Leo Woodall. A series 3 is coming soon, set in Thailand.
Band of Brothers
Created by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, Band of Brothers dramatises the real life history of the 'Easy Company', 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division. It follows them from their paratrooper training to their participation in the Western Front during WWII. The impressive cast includes Damien Lewis, Stephen Graham, Tom Hardy, Michael Fassbender, Dominic Cooper, James McAvoy, Simon Pegg, and Andrew Scott. Friends actor David Schwimmer also appears in one of his rare straight roles.
The Night Of
Suspenseful drama, based on Peter Moffat's BBC series Criminal Justice. The eight-part series follows the story of a man who gives a woman a lift home one night. When she's found murdered shortly afterwards, all fingers point in his direction - but he is adamant of his innocence. The series follows him as he attempts to prove that he didn't commit the crime he's being accused of. Peacemaker
A spin-off series of the Suicide Squad movie, following the DC anti-hero Peacemaker. Landscapers
Landscapers is based on a chilling true story, with David Thewlis and Olivia Colman portraying unlikely murderers Christopher and Susan Edwards. In 1998, they killed William and Patricia Wycherley. The couple were shot and killed in their home in a suburb of Mansfield, England, by their daughter Susan and her husband, Christopher. After burying the bodies in the garden behind the house, the Edwards went on to use the Wycherleys' identities to commit various acts of fraud.
The Staircase
The Staircase is another crime drama based on a true story, this time one that took place in 2001. A man reports that his wife has fallen down the stairs and died. But is this what really happened? As the series progresses, dark secrets are revealed. Colin Firth plays the accused, writer Michael Peterson, whilst Hereditary actress Toni Collette plays his doomed wife Kathleen.
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Larry David, playing a semi-fictional version of himself, attempts to navigate modern life. Along the way, he also gets into various misadventures with friends and fellow stars in LA. Whitstable Pearl
Kerry Godliman plays single mum Pearl who moonlights as a private detective from her restaurant business in Whitstable. Based on the books of the same name, this cosy crime drama follows Pearl as she juggles running a successful business while also solving mysteries and murders in the pretty Kentish seaside town. Doctor Who's Frances Barber and Top Boy villain Howard Charles also star.

Mrs Sidhu Investigates
An Acorn TV original based on the radio drama, this cosy crime follows recently widowed Mrs Sidhu as she attempts to juggle running her business while also solving mysteries in Berkshire. Comedian Meera Syal (Goodness Gracious Me) and Craig Parkinson (Line of Duty) lead this one, which so far consists of four 90-minute episodes.
My Life is Murder
Consisting of four seasons, this Australian cosy crime drama follows the adventures of former police officer (and current consultant) Alexa Crowe, as she solves murders and mysteries alongside her quirky assistant Madison. Along the way, she must also deal with her convicted criminal brother as well as the romantic advances of her co-worker. This series, which has 38 episodes, stars former Xena: Warrior Princess star Lucy Lawless, Ebony Vagulans, and Bernard Curry.
Agatha Raisin
Based on the popular books of the same name, Agatha Raisin has four seasons under its belt. It follows the adventures of Agatha, a former PR agent who solves mysteries in her village in the Cotswolds. Ashley Jensen plays the eponymous sleuth, while Waterloo Road star Jamie Glover and Gavin & Stacey star Matthew Horne also feature.
The Madame Blanc Mysteries
Broadcast on both Channel 5 and Acorn TV, The Madame Blanc Mysteries follows antiques dealer Jean as she travels to France to investigate her husband's mysterious death. Helped by the local Chief of Police, a local taxi driver, and the local chateau owners, Jean attempts to unravel some of the mysteries surrounding her husband, as well as other mysteries along the way. Sally Lindsay leads the cast of this cosy crime drama, which currently has three series available (with a fourth on its way).
The Brokenwood Mysteries
This long-running New Zealand drama follows the story of a DI who moves from the city of Auckland to the fictional town of Brokenwood. After solving a murder there, he decides to stay and continue cracking cases alongside a local detective. There are 10 series currently available on Acorn TV.

Detective Matilda Stone probes mysteries and murders with the help of her three crime-writing aunts. This cosy crime, which consists of two seasons of six episodes each, has an all-star cast, including Julie Graham, Siobhan Redmond, and Sarah Woodward. It's an Acorn TV original and is available to stream in full on the platform.
The Chelsea Detective
Gavin & Stacey star Adrian Scarborough stars as a detective who goes around the London borough of Chelsea solving mysteries. He's joined by young assistants who are different to him in every way as he solves murders in and around the wealthy area of the capital. There are currently two seasons available, with a third on the way. Sonita Henry stars as sidekick DC Priya Shamsie.

Disillusioned with her role as a spy, Emilia Fox's character Sylvia moves to Italy and attempts to settle down in the beautiful Panicale. Site Unseen: An Emma Fielding Mystery (also known by The Site of Murder) is the first of three made-for-TV movies starring Ally McBeal's Courtney Thorne-Smith as Emma. She's an archaeologist who often stumbles across murdered dead bodies, and helps solve the mystery alongside her FBI friend Special Agent John Cooper, played by Big Little Lies' James Tupper. The first film, released in 2017, was followed by second film Past Malice in 2018, and More Bitter Than Death in 2019. They are American made.
Real Murders: An Aurora Teagarden Mystery
Librarian Aurora Teagarden runs a true crime club. However, she probably didn't expect her love and knowledge of crime to be put to the test when she's forced to solve the mystery behind a real-life murder! Aurora clearly catches the bug for solving crimes, with the librarian featuring in 19 TV movies (14 of which are available to stream on Acorn TV). Full House star Candace Cameron Bure stars as the eponymous librarian-turned-amateur-sleuth in this US series os multiple films.

Recipes for Love and Murder
This cosy comedy crime drama is set in South Africa, although Irish Kin actress Maria Doyle Kennedy is the leading lady (playing a Scot). She portrays recipe columnist Tannie Marie, who becomes an amateur sleuth when one of her correspondents is murdered. Tannie embarks on a quest to find out the truth, much to the annoyance of a local police detective. Based on the Tannie Maria Mystery novels by Sally Andrew.
Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries
Set in Melbourne in the 1920s, glamorous detective Phryne Fisher solves mysteries and murders in a man's world. There are three seasons to get through, as well as a spin-off (more on that in a bit). The Babadook star Essie Davis stars as the eponymous detective Miss Fisher in this series. There's also a movie that's unfortunately not on Acorn TV yet.
Ms Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries
This spin-off of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries is set 40 years later - in the 60s. It follows Phryne Fisher's niece, Peregrine, as she becomes a world-class detective in a changing world. Two seasons have aired since it launched in 2019, with the second season consisting of double the amount of episodes in series one (eight, to be exact). Australian actress Geraldine Hakewill plays the lead in this spin-off.
Harry Wild
After being mugged in Dublin, Harriet (aka Harry) decides to take matters into her own hands and find out just who stole her things. Thus, the former college professor transforms into an amateur sleuth. Recruiting an unlikely new young sidekick, they go around solving crimes and mysteries together. Jane Seymour leads.

A British classic, Foyle's War ran for eight seasons before it eventually ended in 2015. From the mind of Anthony Horowitz, it tells the story of Detective Chief Superintendent Christopher Foyle as he solves mysteries, murders, and crimes during and after World War II. Michael Kitchen, Honeysuckle Weeks, and Anthony Howell all star in this iconic drama.

This heartwarming series of TV movies follows four US Postal Service workers from the dead letter's office. While there, the postal detectives try to solve the mysteries behind undeliverable letters and packages from the past, delivering them when they are needed most. Ugly Betty star Eric Mabius, Orphan Black actress Kristin Booth, Children of the Corn's Crystal Lowe, and Once Upon A Time's Geoff Gustafson lead the cast.
Rosamunde Pilcher: The Other Wife
The Other Wife, based on the novel by Rosamunde Pilcher, is a two-part drama about a wife who finds out her husband has another wife and child after he is killed in a plane crash. Rebecca believed she had an lived an idyllic life with her husband - until his death, that is. Upon his death, his double life is revealed, leaving Rebecca reeling. Rupert Everett, Natalia Wörner, and John Hannah lead the cast.
Candice Renoir
This French drama follows a divorced mum-of-four who returns to the police force after spending a decade away. In a desperate bid to prove her sceptical co-workers wrong about her, Candice embarks on a journey of solving several mysteries. The show ran for 11 seasons before being cancelled last year.

Set in 1962, a mute cleaner working at a top-secret government laboratory falls for the Amphibian Man being experimented on. Its superb cast includes Sally Hawkins, Michael Shannon, Octavia Spencer and Richard Jenkins.
Ed Wood
Arguably Johnny Depp and Tim Burton's most under-appreciated team-up. Ed Wood brings to life the filmmaking career of Edward D. Wood Jr in fittingly ghoulish black and white colour. Known for his schlocky Hollywood productions, Ed (Depp) is a happy-go-lucky marvel who melds wonderfully with Martin Landau's legendary Bela Lugosi.
The Banshees of Inisherin
Two lifelong friends find themselves adrift when one abruptly ends their relationship, with alarming consequences for both of them. The action follows islanders Pádraic (Colin Farrell) and Colm (Brendan Gleeson) and the seemingly random breakup of their friendship when the latter suffers a legacy crisis. Jeff Goldblum stars as an ambitious scientist tinkering with teleportation devices. The Fly is classic body horror of the creature-feature kind, as he gradually turns into a man-sized insect when an experiment goes bad. Even its tagline 'Be afraid, be very afraid' can't prepare you for the devastating final half-hour.
Avengers: Infinity War
Avengers: Infinity War is the first of a two-part era-closer for Marvel Studios - and the true coming out party for Josh Brolin's purple supervillain Thanos. It sees Earth's Mightiest Heroes combining with the likes of Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy, Scarlet Witch, and Spider-Man to stop Thanos from collecting all six Infinity Stones and thus destroying half the planet.
High Fidelity
Stephen Frears of Dangerous Liaisons and The Queen fame is in assured rom-com territory here. He transfers the setting of Nick Hornby's 1995 novel over to Chicago from London. It features John Cusack as Rob Gordon who, following a break-up, recounts painful romantic experiences to the camera. High Fidelity was also Jack Black's calling card for a while as he pushed towards A-list status.
Once Upon a Time in America
Sergio Leone's epic drama traces over themes of childhood bonds, greed, betrayal and love. The plot itself charts the lives of friends Noodles and Max as they climb New York City's organised crime ladder. The fantastic cast includes Robert De Niro, James Woods, Joe Pesci, and Elizabeth McGovern.
Outer Banks
Set in the Outer Banks community of North Carolina, this teen drama follows a boy who enlists the help of his three best friends to hunt for a legendary treasure. However, it's not just gold they're after - the treasure is somehow linked to the disappearance of his father. Glass Onion actress Madelyn Clyne stars, as does Uglies' Chase Stokes, Council Dads' Madison Bailey, and Revolution's Jonathan Daviss (who calls himself J.D.).
The Helicopter Heist
A new thriller based on the shocking real events of the Västberga helicopter robbery in 2009. In a crime that shocked the nation, the robbers used a stolen helicopter to land on top of security company C4S’s cash service depot in Stockholm, Sweden. While they successfully stole bags of cash, law enforcers stood by helplessly - the criminals had placed caltrops around the building and bombs at the police’s helicopter base in advance, preventing police from accessing the scene.

Biographical drama exploring the life of racing driver Ayrton Senna (Gabriel Leone), from his first kart race aged 13 to his devastating 1994 crash at the San Marino Grand Prix. As one of Formula One’s brightest stars, Senna won 41 Grands Prix and three Driver’s Championships in 1988, 1990 and 1991. Out of the car, he was as prolific in his charity work, donating millions to change the lives of lower income families in his native Brazil.

Comedian Richard Gadd penned and starred in this black comedy drama, adapted from his autobiographical one-man theatre show. The Outlaws star Jessica Gunning plays his terrifying stalker, Martha.
Supacell
Set in South London, this new superhero drama follows a group of 'normal' people who wake up one day to discover they have inexplicably developed superpowers. The only connection between them is that they are all black. Doctor Who star Tosin Cole and The Responder actress Adelayo Adedayo lead the cast in this thrilling drama.
KAOS
This comedy drama imagines what the Greek and Roman gods would be like living in the modern day. Zeus' rule is under threat thanks to Prometheus, who has a plan to use a prophecy - as well as three unwitting humans - to bring about an end to the lightning god's reign of terror. Jeff Goldblum plays the god of all gods, whilst David Thewlis, Better actress Leila Farzad, and Billie Piper also star.
Heartstopper
This sweet coming-of-age romcom follows slightly awkward gay teenager Nick as he falls in love with his classmate, Charlie - never believing he would stand a chance with the popular rugby player. The series - based on Oseman's webcomic and graphic novel of the same name - stars Rocketman's Kit Connor, Agatha All Along's Joe Locke, Doctor Who's Yasmin Finney, and Broadchurch's Olivia Colman.
The Diplomat
This drama follows a US diplomat working as an ambassador in the UK - and things are far from easy for her. Amidst an international crisis, she must also deal with her failing public relationship with a fellow diplomat. The Americans star Keri Russell leads, alongside Scoop's Rufus Sewell, Ridley Road's Rory Kinnear, and The A Word's David Gyasi.
Squid Game

One day, a prisoner at the bottom decides to change the system. Spanish stars Iván Massagué and Zorion Eguileor lead.

This horror thriller tells the story of a couple from Sudan who escape to the UK. However, their move to a little English village doesn't go as smoothly as possible, as they learn that there is a hidden evil lurking beneath the surface. The Black Phone
Based on a short story written by Stephen King's son, Joe Hill, The Black Phone is about a young boy who is abducted and subsequently trapped in the basement of a psychopathic masked killer. Whilst down there, with no hope of escape, Finney is haunted by the ghosts of the murdered victims before him - and they're trying to stop him from being killed, too. Ethan Hawke plays The Grabber in this simple, but scarily effective, supernatural horror.
American Psycho
Investment banker Patrick Bateman is hiding a very dark secret from his friends and everyone who knows him. He's handsome, fit, and successful. But, he's also a psychopath. As the movie progresses, his fantasies escalate until he is consumed by an uncontrollable bloodlust. Batman actor Christian Bale plays the lead in this early noughties horror, with Willem Dafoe and Jared Leto in supporting roles.
Gerald's Game
Based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, Gerald's Game follows a couple as they head off to spend their holiday in an isolated house. The Haunting of Hill House star Carla Gugino leads this movie, which was directed by horror legend Mike Flanagan.

Another Spanish horror, this tells the story of a young girl called Veronica who, with her group of teenage friends, uses a Ouija board during a solar eclipse to speak to Veronica's dead father. However, the seance goes wrong, and Veronica becomes possessed by evil spirits. Spanish actress Sandra Escacena plays the titular role.
Under the Shadow
Persian language horror Under the Shadow is set in Iran and follows a mother and daughter trying to survive in an active war zone. To make matters worse for them, they begin to be haunted by an evil djinn (spirit). Gangs of London actress Narges Rashidi leads the cast in this psychological horror.
The Wailing
This South Korean drama follows a policeman who investigates what's happened at a small village, where a disturbing epidemic has made the inhabitants violent and deranged. The policeman's daughter has been infected - and so he must work out how to save her, before she too turns into a murdering berserker. Kwak Do-won leads the cast.
Annihilation
This sci-fi horror follows a group of scientists as they enter 'The Shimmer', a quarantined area where everything inside it is mutated - and that includes the plant life and the animals. But something even stranger is to be found there too. Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, and Oscar Isaac all star.
Creep
A found-footage movie like The Blair Witch Project, Creep follows a videographer who answers an ad to go and film some content for a stranger. The stranger's video is meant to be for his son's birthday - however, his requests get weirder and weirder as things take a turn for the worse. The Morning Show star Mark Duplass plays the weird Josef, while Patrick Brice plays the videographer Aaron.

Another Jordan Peele horror offering (after Get Out), Nope follows two horse trainers whose ranch is being targeted by a myster UFO. In a bid to document and sell evidence of the UFO, they risk their lives to prove its existence. Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer play the siblings, whilst The Walking Dead’s Steven Yeun also features.

This horror thriller tells the story of a woman who wakes up to find herself chained to her dead husband, with no means of getting free. To make matters even worse for her, there are assassins on the way to kill her. Megan Fox leads a cast that also includes Merlin star Eoin Macken and Avengers actor Callan Mulvey.

He presides over his long-suffering staff as they undergo daily struggles such as office politics, falling in love, and getting the stapler out of jelly. All three series are available to watch on BBC iPlayer, although technically series 3 is a two-part Christmas special.
This Country
Kurtan and Kerry Mucklowe are two cousins living in a rural town in the Cotswolds. There isn’t too much for them to do, apart from bickering and getting into trouble. The pair’s antics put tongue firmly in cheek to highlight the humour and absurdity of living in rural England. Like The Office, only three series were ever made. They are available to watch now, including a one off special made in 2018.
Ghosts
A couple inherits an old, run-down mansion, only to discover that it is haunted by quirky spirits from the past. The show therefore leads to a never-ending spell of funny and heartwarming interactions between humans and ghosts, in an immensely popular show that spawned its own US spin-off. All series of the British version, including the fifth and final series, is available to watch on BBC iPlayer. Three seasons of Ghosts US are also free for streaming.

A show on the BBC, set within the BBC, about people working for the BBC, trying to run the BBC. Is that the most British thing of all time? Huge Bonneville returns as Ian Fletcher, formerly the Head of the Olympic Deliverance Commission, who has taken up the position of Head of Values at the BBC. Three series of W1A, and two of its predecessor Twenty-Twelve are available to watch.
The Cleaner
Starring the hilariously versatile Greg Davies, the show follows Paul, a crime scene cleaner, who stumbles into the lives of those left behind at the scene. Each episode features a different messy situation and a fresh cast of characters that bring their own unique spin on proceedings. Three series are currently in iPlayer.

David Mitchell plays a puzzle-nerd who is reluctantly forced into the world of police work after his identical brother – a detective - goes missing. The introvert is pushed out of his comfort zone as he works through the clues in an attempt to get to the bottom of his brother’s mysterious disappearance. This is a brand new series, which only landed on the Beeb in 2024.
Gavin & Stacey
Gavin, from Essex, falls in love with Stacey, from Wales. That’s quite a distance between the two and quite a different way of living. With their best friends and family beside them every step of the way, Gavin and Stacey merge their worlds and juggle the beauty and mundanity of modern life. There are three seasons available. The last ever episode will air on Christmas Day 2024.

A mockumentary that follows a group of hapless West London garage rappers trying to make it big with their radio station, Kurupt FM. It’s a hilarious take on the music industry, complete with plenty of ego, delusion, and utter nonsense. The show went on to have five series, and spawned a big screen adaptation, People Just Do Nothing: Big In Japan (which isn’t currently available on BBC iPlayer, although the series are).

Mawaan Rizwan plays Jamma, a young gay man who strives to be the centre of attention, but his family consistently steal his thunder. This show dives into the lives of young people navigating love, friendship and ambition in a vibrant and challenging environment. Series 2 is coming soon.

This anthology series – nine in total - features a different story in each episode. The standalone episodes blend dark comedy and suspense in a unique, and often unsettling, way. Created by League of Gentleman stars Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith, who ended the series for good in 2024.

Would I Lie to You?
A panel game show that pits two teams against each other in a battle of wits and deception. Each contestant shares unbelievable stories and the opposing team must figure out whether they’re true or fabricated. Lee Mack and David Mitchell are team leaders, with Rob Brydon hosting. The show features fantastic guests in each episode. Although the show has been on our screens ever since 2007 (for 17 seasons), only the last five are available on BBC iPlayer.

This comedy-drama centres on Mobeen, a British-Pakistani man living in Birmingham and desperately trying to keep his past behind him. It tackles issues of identity, culture, and friendship with humour and sincerity. It features an incredibly funny cast over four series.

The Teacher
The Teacher began in 2022 and followed Sheridan Smith’s character as she attempted to work out what happened to her on a drunken night out where she was accused of sexually assaulting a student. The second season follows a new cast, this time led by Kara Tointon, as Dani. In series 2, Dani begins an affair with a colleague while on a school trip. When a student goes missing, she is forced to lie as her life crumbles around her. Emmett J Scanlan and Will Mellor also star.
Coma
A mild-mannered family man loses his cool when his neighbourhood is terrorised by a gang of teenagers. However, his out-of-character confrontation with them forces him to deal with consequences he likely didn’t expect. To avoid repercussions, he lies to police and desperately tries to keep his secret hidden. Jason Watkins leads the cast in this four-part drama, which also stars After the Flood actor Jonas Armstrong and Outnumbered star Claire Skinner.
The Night Caller
After having lost his job, Tony becomes a taxi driver in Liverpool. During his lonely nights working, he phones in to a radio station he likes listening to, and becomes a “friend of the show”. However, his liking of the show’s host soon becomes an obsession which becomes dangerous. Spooks actor Robert Glenister stars as Tony, with Sean Pertwee playing radio host Lawrence.
The Cuckoo
The Cuckoo tells the story of a woman who moves in with a family who have recently lost their son as their lodger. However, as she continues to cross boundaries and moves into the son’s bedroom, the family begin to suspect that there’s more to her than meets the eye. Jill Halfpenny stars in this four-part drama which aired back in April.
Ellis
Ellis tells the story of DCI Ellis, who is parachuted in to respond to a murder investigation in a small town. However, her inquiries leads her to understand that the town’s parents don’t know anything about their children. Sharon D Clarke and Andrew Gower star in this three-part drama.
Too Good to Be True
This four episode mini-series follows cash-strapped single mum Rachel who is struggling to make ends meet, until she’s offered the opportunity to work for a wealthy client. Things seem great at first, however the client’s dark side soon comes to the fore, she begins to grow suspicious of his motives. The Teacher star Kara Tointon plays Rachel, with Downton Abbey actor Allen Leech playing the mysterious Elliott.
Cold Call
This four-part drama follows a woman as she is scammed out of her money by a cold caller. In a bid to win her money back, and take down the scammer, she begins working for him. But she will she evade suspicion? Sally Lindsay leads the cast, with Daniel Ryan and Paul Higgins also featuring.

The story follows fisherman Ed Collier, who is highly protective over his family, which includes wife Claire and daughter Abbie. However, when a rich young man by the name of Ryan Wilson starts to take an interest in his daughter, Ed feels her becoming increasingly distant and fears he may lose her for good. While Ed tries to uncover Ryan's secrets, he also has to protect his own dark past from seeing the light.
The Holiday
Four families gather for a holiday abroad. However, the sun, sea, and sand doesn’t prevent some shocking revelations coming to light. Things go from bad to worse when a murder is committed. The families must now figure out who is responsible for it. Jill Halfpenny leads the cast, which also features the likes of Killing Eve’s Owen McDonnell and Aidan McArdle.

Finders Keepers follows a group of amateur metal detectorists who stumble across a hoard of buried Saxon treasure. Instead of handing it over to the authorities, they decide to keep it, with the aim of selling it on for some big, big money. However, this decision sends them down a path of treachery and suspicion of murder. Neil Morrissey, James Buckley, and Fay Ripley lead the cast of this four-part drama.
All Creatures Great & Small
A reboot of the classic, this drama, set in 1930s Yorkshire, follows a group of vets, their adventures, lives outside of work and relationships. Slow Horses star Samuel West leads the cast, alongside Anna Madeley, Rachel Shenton and the late Diana Rigg. Inspired by the book series, written by James Herriot, the author says most of the cases featured were based on true stories.
The Inheritance
A father unexpectedly dies, but his children’s grief turns from confusion to anger when they find out he changed his will before he died, meaning they have been left with nothing. All he owns has now been transferred to his new partner. The siblings try to figure out whether his death was a tragic accident as first believed, or something more sinister happened. Larry Lamb and Samantha Bond lead the cast in this four-part drama, which also features GMB host Adil Ray.
For Her Sins
This four-part drama follows Laura, a mother-of-two who lives a perfect life. She has a great job, a loving husband, but seems to struggle with raising her children. However, when she meets the mysterious Emma in the school playground, everything in her life begins to unravel. Who is Emma? And why is she so determined to ruin Laura’s life? Jo Joyner plays Laura, with All Creatures Great and Small star Rachel Shenton plays Emma.
HEAT
Danny Dyer, who portrays Steve Cameron, leads this four-part drama, which tells the story of two families who meet up in Australia. Steve takes his family to his friend's home for a summer holiday, and while they've been dealing with their own problems, they had no idea what would unfold during their vacation. As bushfires rage, secrets reveal themselves with disastrous consequences. Joining Dyer are Australian actors Jane Allsop and Pia Miranda, as well as Darren McCullen.
The Drowning
This mystery series revolves around Jodie, a struggling mum who lost her four-year-old son in an accident nine years earlier. It's a type of grief no parent would heal from, but when she sees a boy who looks like an older version of her son almost a decade later, she's convinced it's her missing boy. In an attempt to find out the truth, she lies to get closer to him to find out more. Starring Jo Joyner and Rachel Shenton, this psychological crime drama will have you guessing at every turn.
Lie with Me
Set in Australia, this drama follows a family who move Down Under from the UK for a fresh start. After moving, they hire a nanny to look after their young son. However, it turns out that the nanny is hiding something and isn’t who she seems. EastEnders actress Charlie Brooker leads the cast, which also features Brett Tucker, Phoebe Roberts, and Caroline Gillmer.
Love Rat
Recently divorced Emma enjoys a whirlwind romance with a hotel proprietor whilst on holiday in Cyprus. However, her new man turns out to be a scammer, who robs her of her life savings. Emma must now embark on a dangerous mission to get her money back. Sally Lindsay stars as the lead, with Gerald Kyr as the mysterious scammer. Neil Morrissey is also in the cast.
Blindspot
Blindspot tells the story of a mysterious woman who is found in a travel bag in Times Square by the FBI. The woman has no recollection of her past or her identity. However, she is covered in fresh tattoos, which turn out to be clues towards her past. She has to piece together the jigsaw puzzle inked on her skin to uncover who she really is. Thor actress Jaimie Alexander stars, with Sullivan Stapleton also starring.
Penance
A three-part Julie Graham-led drama. Penance follows a husband and wife who are grieving the death of their son in Thailand. Amid their grief, Rosalie (Graham) grows close to a young and charismatic man whose parents have died. He also just happens to pass a resemblance to her dead son. Exploiting their emotional turmoil, the man manages to infiltrate the family and attempts to seduce Rosalie. But what is his end goal? Joining Graham in the cast are Neil Morrissey, My Mad Fat Diary actor Nico Mirallegro, and Art Malik.
Wentworth
This drama follows groups of women as they attempt to survive in the brutal Australian prison, Wentworth. The first 4 seasons follows Bea Smith’s early days behind bars and her subsequent rise in the prison hierarchy. From season six onwards, the show follows an ensemble of characters. Danielle Cormack leads the first few series, which also feature the likes of Nicole Da Silva and Kate Atkinson.
Intruder
This four-part drama follows a married couple based in Cornwall. They are living a perfect, wealthy life but their life is turned upside down when their home is broken into but two teenagers. Matters take a turn and Sam (Tom Meeten) inadvertently kill one of the intruders. The police get involved in the case to find out what really happened. Sally Lindsay stars in this one, with Elaine Cassidy and Tom Meeten also featuring.
Revenge
This American drama follows a young woman who manages to infiltrate an affluent community in a bid to get revenge on those who wronged her and her family 20 years previously. Based on The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas, her ultimate goal is to seek vengeance for her father being wrongly convicted. During her masterplan, she blends herself into the community she use to live in, but gets involved in multiple dangerous situations, and uncovers shocking revelations and secrets. Marvel star Emily VanCamp stars, with Madeleine Stowe and Gabriel Mann also involved.
Riptide
Alison has just tied the knot to an older (and wealthier) man who lives by the coast. She moves to be with him, however, things take a turn for the worst when he goes missing after an early morning surf. The police believe he may have drowned in the riptide, but Alison believes something more sinister is going on. Jo Joyner stars, with Peter O’Brien, Ciaran Griffiths, and David Berry also in the cast.
Unbelievable
Unbelievable tells the story of Marie, a young woman who was charged with a crime for reporting that she had been raped. Despite being accused of lying, two detectives embark on a mission to find out who the serial rapist behind Marie and the other attacks is. This eight-part drama is based on the Washington and Colorado serial rape cases that took place between 2008 and 2011. Knives Out star Toni Collette and Nurse Jackie actress Merritt Wever lead the cast.

In Texas, Candy Montgomery’s life is turned upside down when she’s accused of murdering her neighbour. The mother-of-two had been having an affair with her neighbour's husband, making her suspect numero uno. This drama, which is set in the 80s and revolves around the real-life murder of Betty Gore, stars Jessica Biel as the lead. Pablo Schreiber and Melanie Lynskey also feature in the cast.

The Staircase
The Staircase follows a married couple who appear perfectly happy, until the wife dies after falling down the stairs. However, there is more to her death than a tragic accident. Colin Firth and Toni Collette star in this drama, which is based on the real-life death of Kathleen Peterson and how her husband was convicted of her murder.
Under the Banner of Heaven
Under the Banner of Heaven follows a detective as he investigates the murder of a young mother. His inquiries leads him into realising the young mother and her baby’s death could have been something to do with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This shakes his faith completely. Spiderman star Andrew Garfield portrays Detective Jeb Pyre, with Normal People’s Daisy Edgar-Jones also appearing, alongside Marvel actor Wyatt Russell.
Black Bird
Black Bird follows a young man called James ‘Jimmy’ Keene, who has been arrested as part of a sting operation. He is sentenced to ten years in prison but is offered a life line, - if he can get a murder confession out of his fellow inmate, he can walk free. However, it’s not as easy as first thought, and it becomes the challenge of a lifetime. Rocketman actor Taron Egerton plays Jimmy, with Paul Walter Hauser also featuring.
The Walk-In
The Walk-In, which is five episodes long, is based on the true story of how Matthew Collins, a member of the activist group Hope Not Hate, managed to infiltrate the British Neo-Nazi terrorist group National Action, where he managed to foil a plot to assassinate a Labour MP. Stephen Graham plays Collins, with Game of Thrones star Dean Charles-Chapman playing the leader of National Action, Jack Renshaw.
Des
Des tells the story of Dennis Nielsen, his horrific crimes, capture and confessions. After human remains are discovered blocking the drains near his house, Nielsen is arrested. However, the fact that he confesses to murdering several young men baffles police. Soon, Nielsen is in conversation with a journalist, who is set to publish a book about his heinous crimes. Doctor Who legend David Tennant plays the serial killer, with Jason Watkins and Daniel Mays also appearing.
A Friend of the Family
This nine-part drama tells the story of how teen girl Jan Broberg was kidnapped and sexually abused by the same man twice. However, Jan wasn’t kidnapped by just anyone, she was taken by a family ‘friend’, who used sophisticated tactics to divide and exploit their vulnerabilities, all to get his hands on Jan. The Handmaid’s Tale star Mckenna Grace plays Jan, with The White Lotus actor Jake Lacy playing her kidnapper, Robert Berchtold.

Like Candy, this series follows Candy Montgomery, who is accused of murdering her neighbour's wife. Candy was having an affair with her neighbour, and his wife Betty turned up dead, she soon becomes the prime suspect number. In this version, which is now available on ITVX, Marvel star Elizabeth Olsen plays Candy, with Breaking Bad star Jesse Plemons playing the neighbour she is having an affair with.
A Confession
This six-part drama follows a police detective who investigates the disappearance of a young woman. During the ensuing man-hunt, he confronts a suspect who leaves him with a major dilemma - follow protocol, or risk everything for the chance to catch a serial killer. Martin Freeman plays Detective Fulcher in this true-crime drama, which also features the likes of Imelda Staunton, Siobhan Finneran, and Faye McKeever.
When They See Us
This gut-wrenching drama follows a group of five young black and latino men, who are falsely accused - and convicted - of the rape of a young white woman, who was out jogging in Central Park, New York. Told over the course of many years, this drama is based on the real Central Park jogger case, which happened in 1989. It features a stellar cast, including Asante Blackk, Caleel Harris, and Jharrel Jerome, amongst more.
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile
This biographical crime drama follows the horrific crimes of serial killer Ted Bundy, who murdered and raped dozens of young women during the 70s. He confessed to murdering 30 women before he was executed in the 80s. In this drama, Zac Efron portrays the serial killer, as he is caught and put on trial for his crimes. It explores his relationship with his girlfriend on the outside, played by Lily Collins, as well as a friend he begins a relationship with, played by Kaya Scodelario. Jon Malkovich, Jim Parsons, and Haley Joel Osment also appear.

Originally broadcast on the BBC, The Serpent follows Charles "the Serpent" Sobhraj, who murdered young tourists travelling through Thailand during the 1970s. The drama is set at the height of his criminal actives, when a Dutch diplomat is sent to Thailand to investigate the murders of two tourists. His investigations soon lead him in the direction of Sobhraj. French actor Tahar Rahim plays the killer, with The Jetty star Jenna Coleman playing his girlfriend, Marie-Andrée. Billy Howle, Ellie Bamber, and Tim McInnerney also star.
The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe
This four-part drama from ITVX tells the story of John Darwin, who, while struggling with debt, faked his own death so that his family would get the life insurance money. After committing the crime, John moves into the house next door, and begins plotting his next move - to move abroad to Panama and start a new life there. However, things don’t exactly go to plan. Eddie Marsan plays John, with Monica Dolan playing his long-suffering wife, Anne.
Landscapers
Originally broadcast on Sky Atlantic, Landscapers tells the story of a mild-mannered couple whose lives are turned upside down when their dark past is uncovered - and dead bodies are found in their garden. Olivia Colman and David Thewlis lead a cast which also features Daniel Rigby, Samuel Anderson, and Alan Partridge star Felicity Montagu.
DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story
The Monster series follows the life of Jeffrey Dahmer, the serial killer, from his childhood to his horrendous crimes as one of the most notorious serial killers to ever live. The Netflix series also covers the eventual capture and his death. It particularly dramatises moments where Dahmer was almost caught, but managed to evade capture. American Horror Story star Evan Peters plays the titular monster, with Richard Jenkins and Molly Ringwald also appearing.
Mr Bates vs The Post Office
This four-part drama tells the story of the British Post Office scandal, which saw hundreds of subpostmasters wrongly prosecuted of fraud, theft, and false accounting, which was actually due to a faulty computer system called Horizon. This series depicts Alan Bates’ decades long battle against the Post Office, as he attempted to prove that their computer systems were to blame. Toby Jones plays Alan Bates, with Julie Hesmondhalgh, Monica Dolan, Will Mellor, and Amy Nuttall also in the cast.
Litvinenko
This four part tells the real-life story of how an officer of the Russian Federal Security Service was poisoned whilst in London. The series not only deals with the attempt against Alexander Litivenko;s life, but his wife and the police’s 10-year battle to find out who was responsible for it. David Tennant plays the titular character, with The Acolyte star Margarita Levieva playing his wife, and Mark Bonnar as Detective Superintendent Clive Timmons.
Inventing Anna
Inventing Anna tells the story of Anna Sorokin, a Russian con artist, who managed to infiltrate New York high society by convincing everyone she was a German heiress. After worming her way to the top, she then began scamming those around her out of millions. In this drama, Ozark star Julia Garner plays the lead, with Succession star Arian Moayed and Veep’s Anna Chlumsky also in the cast.
Dopesick
This American drama tells the true story of the US’ struggle with Opioid addiction. it examines the effects the addiction has on individuals and on their families - and the legal aspects of big pharmacies developing, testing, and selling OxyContin. Michael Keaton, Peter Sarsgaard, and Will Poulter are amongst the star-studded cast.
The Dropout
The Dropout tells the story of Elizabeth Holmes, who creates healthcare technology that puts millions of patients at risk. The ensuing chaos caused sees her lose everything in the blink of an eye. It also depicts the downfall of her company, Theranos. Amanda Seyfried leads as Holmes, with the likes of Stephen Fry, Naveen Andrews, and Dylan Minnette also appearing.
Four Lives
Set in 2014 and 2015, Four Lives follows the families of four young gay men who were killed by the same person, Stephen Port. The three-part series reveals the mission they embark on to seek justice for their loved ones after multiple failings by the Metropolitan Police. Sheridan Smith stars as Sarah Sak, the mother of Port’s first victim. Stephen Merchant plays the killer. Samuel Barnett and Robert Emms also star.
