Am I Being Unreasonable? series 2: Daisy May Cooper reunites with brother Charlie in the cast
By Helen Fear |Am I Being Unreasonable? returns with series 2 - finally! - and we're very excited about the guest cast joining leading actress Daisy May Cooper, which includes her very own brother Charlie.
Daisy May and Charlie haven't been seen together on screen since the end of the award-winning comedy series This Country. And the reunion almost makes up for having to wait more than two years for the show's return.
So who plays who in the cast of Am I Being Unreasonable? series 2, and where have you seen them before? Here's everything you need to know...
Am I Being Unreasonable? series 2 cast: Daisy May Cooper as Nic
Co-creator and co-writer Daisy May Cooper, 38, stars as Nic in the cast of series 2. Of course, Daisy is best known for playing Kerry in the self-penned comedy This Country, which she created with her brother Charlie.
The comedy, which ran for three series between 2017 and 2020, followed Kerry and Kurtan in a documentary-style comedy about the lives and experiences of young people in modern, rural Britain. To say it was hilarious doesn't do it justice.
Gloucester-born Daisy first appeared on our screens in 2011, when she played a young mum in Doc Martin. But her stratospheric rise to fame was just around the corner.
After popping up as PC Garvey in James Corden comedy The Wrong Mans, she wrote and starred in the 2014 pilot for This Country, at the time called Kerry. Using good sense, the BBC commissioned the pilot to a full series and the rest is history.
After the show's end, Daisy played Thomasine Gooch in 2022's The Witchfinder. That same year, her next comedy Am I Being Unreasonable? landed on BBC One.
Other notable roles include Sarah/Zarah in Avenue 5, and Costello in Rain Dogs. She's also a familiar face on the comedy panel show circuit, and has appeared as a captain on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, on the couch in Celebrity Gogglebox, and even sang as Otter on The Masked Singer 2023.
Selin Hizli returns as Jen
Selin Hizli, who also created and wrote the series alongside co-star Daisy May Cooper, plays Jen.
Grantchester fans might know her best as Margaret Ward, a role she played from 2016 to 2017.
Hertfordshire-born Selin, 36, is a writer, producer and actress who is also famous for her starring role in the second and third series of the BBC One drama Land Girls. She played Connie Carter in the 2011 series.
Her very first TV role was playing Fred and Rose West's daughter Mae in the ITV drama Appropriate Adult. Selin - who has a Turkish father - went on to play Sara Waldman in Law & Order: UK, Lucy Packard in Casualty, and Doris Aston in Call the Midwife.
She first worked with good friend Daisy May Cooper in the This Country pilot in 2014, before popping up as Stacey Bell in Luther.
After her starring role as the police junior office clerk in Grantchester, she portrayed Debbie in Mum, and Sasha Thompson in Deadwater Fell.
More recently, Selin played Samantha Wishart in ITVX thriller Six Four, and Karen in Things You Should Have Done.
Lenny Rush portrays Nic's son Ollie
The brilliant Lenny Rush - who was also sitting his GCSE's while filming - returns as Nic's son Ollie in the cast of Am I Being Unreasonable?
He quite rightly won a BAFTA for best male comedy performance for his role in series 1, as well as two Royal Television Society Awards.
After the success of series 1, Lenny was asked to host Children in Need 2023 and 2024 - the first time a child had ever been asked to present. And he bloody smashed it.
Before playing Ollie in AIBU?, Lenny was probably best known for playing Tiny Tim Cratchit in the BBC adaptation of A Christmas Carol, Murphy in Dumping Ground, and Morgan in Dodger.
In 2023, he portrayed George in the brilliantly moving Best Interests, before popping up in Renegade Nell as an inn keeper's lad, and playing Morris Gibbons in Doctor Who.
He's also been in several films, including The Kemps: All Gold, The Queen Mary, and Enola Holmes 2.
Am I Being Unreasonable? series 2 cast: Dustin Demri-Burns is Dan
Lancaster-born Dustin Demri-Burns, 46, reprises his role as Nic's husband Dan, who seems to be in a state of perpetual mid-life crisis.
Actor and writer Dustin has been on our screens since 2003, when he first appeared in the short film Nightswimming. Nowadays, he's probably best known for playing Min Harper in Slow Horses series 1 and 2. His character was killed in one of the show's most shocking and heartbreaking storylines.
Those of you who watched the recent thriller Sweetpea will know that his character Jeff came to a similarly sticky end on a bike!
Dustin is mostly known for his comedic roles in the likes of The Mimic, Bad Education, Psychobitches, Asylum, and Sick Note. Between 2012 and 2014, he played various roles in the sketch show Cardinal Burns.
Other notable roles include Monsieur Silk in one episode of Peaky Blinders, multiple characters in Drunk History: UK, Daniel Smith in Turn Up Charlie, Simon in GameFace, and Julian in Stath Lets Flats.
In 2019, Dustin starred as Francis in The Capture, opposite Strike actress Holliday Grainger, before playing Blain in Britannia, and Phil in The Flatshare. More recently, he's portrayed Voltaire in The Great, Ted in 3 Body Problem, and Arriguccio in The Decameron.
Juliet Cowan stars as Viv
Northern Irish actress Juliet Cowan, 50, returns as Viv in the cast of series 2 of Am I Being Unreasonable?
She's been on our screens since 1993, when she played Simon Drake's Girlfriend in Iron Maiden: Raising Hell, the live concert video.
She went on to secure the role which catapulted her to TV fame - playing Nicki in 15 episodes of This Life in 1997. After several years of supporting roles in the likes of Inspector Morse, and Smack the Pony, she won the role of Polly Arnold in Channel 5 soap Family Affairs. This was followed by roles in The Bill, The Queen's Nose, and Doctors.
Between 2007 and 2008, Juliet portrayed Chrissie Jackson in The Sarah Jane Adventures. She subsequently played Josie in Shameless, Tanya in Pulling, and Claire Kelly in Silent Witness.
In 2012, she played Nina Hewland in two episodes of EastEnders, before securing the role of Amanda in the CBBC drama The Revolting World of Stanley Brown. A few years later, she played Rosa in the kids' show Hank Zipzer, about a young boy struggling through school because of his dyslexia.
She's perhaps best known for playing Nina in the comedy Cuckoo, and Tina in Back to Life alongside Daisy Haggard. More recently, she's portrayed Liz Jones in Brassic, Chrissy in Spent, The Intermediary in Culprits, and Barbara Monke in The Power.
Karla Crome returns as Lucy
London-born Karla Crome, 36, reprises her role of Lucy in series 2 of Am I Being Unreasonable?
The writer and actress is most famous for playing Jess in the brilliantly bonkers comedy drama Misfits, as well as Tourmaline Larou in Victoria fantasy Carnival Row.
On our screens since 2009, Karla is also known for playing Riley in Hit & Miss, Donna Holmes in Monroe, Clare Mullen in Lightfields, and Aisling in Prisoners
Georgie Glenn stars as Mrs Baggot in cast of Am I Being Unreasonable?
Call the Midwife's Georgie Glenn returns as Mrs. Baggot,
King Gary star Tom Davis appears as an unhinged taxi driver when Nic goes on the run.
Comedian Jamali Maddix stars as a hotel receptionist.
Former Corrie star Denise Black guest stars as eccentric, hard-drinking Daphne, while British rapper and poet Kojey Radical also pops up in an episode.
And last but by no means least, Daisy May's brother Charlie Cooper will portray Jurgeon. It's the first onscreen reunion with his sis since their BAFTA-winning comedy series This Country.
Daisy May says: "We've got my brother turning up because he needs the money. I really wanted him to play a character with a mullet and wearing a shell suit. He's meant to be Dutch in it, but his Dutch accent was so bad I had to write in that he's not actually Dutch because he kept dropping it. So Kerry and Kurtan [from This Country] are coming back!"
