Nottingham-born actress Tala Gouveia, 36, guest stars as Kelly Herbert in the cast of Death in Paradise. It's her first role since ITV announced that McDonald & Dodds, in which she played DCI Lauren McDonald, had been axed.

Sadly, the detective series has been cancelled after four seasons on ITV. The channel revealed that ratings for the final series didn't meet the threshold for a recommission.
